The number of colleges and universities, and even prep schools and high schools, which have ordered an academic mace from Red Oak Hollow Lathe Works continues to grow. Even one fraternity foundation has ordered a mace. Here is a current list of my mace customers in chronological order. This is fifty-six maces for fifty-three customers. Maces aren’t inexpensive but the ones I make appear to be very well received from both design and cost perspectives. Sometimes funding is an issue for the school. Sometimes it is design debates. The most important thing is to be sure that the final product is something which the school will cherish for decades to come. These maces should last at least a hundred years.
