Our church has two mission events for junior high and high school age youth over Spring Break. One of these events is called Urban Plunge and is a four-day local effort to feed the hungry, help the homeless, repair homes as needed within their ability, and generally provide Christian assistance to needy folk. It is a great program. Upon completion of the mission effort each year, the graduating seniors who are part of Urban Plunge are given a "plunger" as a memento of their mission work. These are two of the plungers which I turned from wood for the seniors. I was definitely flushed with pride over their eager acceptance of these mementos. :-)
